Connecting Zendesk
Once you have installed Zensync to your Slack organization, the next step is to connect it to your Zendesk org.
Under the Zensync Home Tab in Slack, tap the Configure Zendesk button. You'll need to enter three pieces of information about your Zendesk instance to connect:
- Zendesk domain prefix: This is the first part of the Zendesk url you use to access Zendesk. For example, if your Zendesk url is
https://waystar.zendesk.com
you would enterwaystar
here. - Zendesk API Key: You'll need to create an API key in the Zendesk Admin portal and paste it in here.
- Zendesk Admin Email: This needs to be the full email address of the Zendesk admin that created the API key used above.
With all of the information entered, click Connect.
Ensure proper permissions
Ensure that a Zendesk Admin account is used to make the connection. Zensync needs sufficient permissions to set up triggers and webhooks in Zendesk.
Re-authenticating Zendesk
If you ever need to re-authenticate with Zendesk, tap the button button under Account Settings > Zendesk Connection on the Zensync Home Tab to update your connection information.
